Cocktails & Clay

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is pleased to partner with Alys Beach to offer a special Crafted edition of its popular Cocktails & Clay workshop—an afternoon combining two art forms: handmade clay creations and specially crafted cocktails. 

To kick off the creative flow, attendees will shake, swirl, and sip as they’re guided through the crafting of a custom cocktail before hitting the clay.

With cocktail in hand, and under the expert guidance of local ceramicist Sarah Bumanglag, attendees will use hand-building techniques to create two vessels of their choice (rocks glasses or wine glasses, or mix-and-match). 

Following the building of your vessels, participants will select glaze from color swatches, and Sarah will professionally glaze and kiln-fire the finished pieces at the Pottery Studio at the CAA’s Bayou Arts Center. Once the pieces are ready, participants will receive notification and can either pick up (within two to three weeks) or opt for delivery (available for an additional fee). Alys Beach Homeowners may pick up their pottery from the Development Office in Alys Beach.

Devised for beginners and experienced makers alike, this workshop is designed to encourage us to slow down, connect friends and neighbors, and share the joy of creativity. Curiosity is the only prerequisite!

Cocktails & Clay will take place November 14, 2026, from 3–5 PM at The Summerhouse at The Silva (doors open at 2:30 PM, workshop starts promptly at 3:00 PM) for a 21+ craft cocktail and mocktail workshop, with registration including all materials and light bites.
